Jennifer Martinez
Jennifer Martinez is an August ’07 graduate of Texas State University. There she was a member and officer for the Texas State Strutter Dance Team, and a member of the Showmakers of America dance staff.
She received her Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. She now teaches kindergarten at Fisher Elementary for Northside Independent School District.
She has been dancing for 22 years and teaching for 9. She has won numerous overall awards including: Tremaine Studio Dancer of the Year, Showstoppers opening number, and a Tremaine convention scholarship. She has spent four summers training at The Edge Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles, California, where she danced under the instruction of Nichelle Bane, Eddie Garcia, Doug Caldwell, Jayson Wright, Sonya Tayeh and Malaya.
She also appeared in Ryan Cabrera’s video, “On the Way Down” with Ashlee Simpson. Recently she auditioned for the t.v. show “So You Think You Can Dance”, in Seattle, where she was passed through first and second rounds, placing her in the top 250 out of 1,000.
It is her third year at Chrissy’s and she is very excited to be assistant director and part of such a wonderful staff.
