Chrissy is 2003 graduate of the former Southwest Texas State University. There she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Dance with Teacher Certification. In San Marcos, she danced under Dr. Joan Hays. She also took from many other fabulous teachers such as the late Karen Earl, LeAnne Smith, and Pat Stone.
Chrissy also served as Captain her Senior year for the John Marshall Dance Team under Stacey Becker. Here she performed her solos in Showmakers Competitions where she placed as a top finalist.
Chrissy began dancing at the age of 3 under the late Kay Weiner. She also began dancing competitively at the age of eight. Competitive dance gave Chrissy the opportunity to travel and dance across the country.
Chrissy’s Dance Academy is currently in it’s 12th year. In that time, the academy has been voted a “People’s Choice” Best Dance Studio by the Helots Echo Newspaper readers 9 times and brought home a National Championship 6 times!
Chrissy is also the Director of Premiere Dance Co. This is the competitive division of Chrissy’s Dance Academy. She has choreographed many award winning pieces including 3 pieces that won National Champions!
Chrissy is the proud mother of 2 girls and 1 boy. Her husband, Ryan is a Regional Manager for a national solar & security company. Ryan, Chrissy, Kali, Jayli, & Lyric are Helotes residents and enjoy being “on the go!”

Amanda has been dancing since the age of 5. She was a former member of the Oconnor Golduster Dance Team, where she served as an lieutenant, and is now at the University of Texas at San Antonio working on her chemistry major in order to become a pharmacist. She has practiced ballet, jazz, hip hop, modern, lyrical, tap and musical theater.
She has competed at SMA in group dances as well as solo dances, and has won many awards and the SMA dance team camps and officer camps.
She is also a former participant of the Oconnor Varsity Vocal Music department, winning UIL events, and placing the Region Treble Choir. She has also danced in the musical productions of “Guy’s and Dolls” as well as “Beauty and The Beast” at Oconnor High School, and has a strong passion for musical theater.
Diana, Chrissy’s Dance Academy’s office manager, is a happily married Mom of 3 and is always ready to greet you with a smile at the front office. She attended Texas Tech University where she studied early childhood development. After moving to San Antonio in the summer of 1999, she met and instantly fell in love with her husband, Sly and his first son, Jeremy. Their daughter, Karina was born in the fall of 2000 and their son, Cesar was born in the summer of 2006. In addition to being the office manager, Diana also works for NISD.
Although Diana herself has no previous dance experience (other than the occasional celebration or night out with her husband or friends) she loves and admires the many talented dancers and instructors she and her children have been exposed to. Diana’s children are very involved in the world of dance. Karina, now in high school, has been dancing since the age of 4 and competing since the age of 6. She is a member of Chrissy’s Elite Premiere Dance Company and currently holds the title of Miss Teen Starbound. In addition to studying karate, Cesar has been taking hip hop for a number of years and enjoys taking tap lessons too. Jeremy is currently in college where he is studying to earn a degree in architecture. Diana’s husband, Sly, is an avid runner who completed his first full marathon in November of 2012. He is an amazing man who truly shows great support and enthusiasm for all of his children’s activities.
Diana truly enjoys working at the best dance studio in Helotes. The staff and students are always a joy to be around. She truly feels blessed.
Ally will be a 2016 graduate of O’Connor high school. She is currently serving as captain of the award winning Golduster dance team. Ally hopes to attend UTSA and follow in her Mom‘s footsteps to become a nurse.
Ally is an original member of Chrissy’s Dance Academy. She joined as a student when the studio first opened its doors in 2004 and has been dancing for 11 years. She was also an original member of Chrissy’s Premiere Dance Company.
Ally has began her 2nd year of teaching at the studio. She truly enjoys being able to teach students the skills she was not able to master herself. Watching her students grow and succeed brings her a lot of joy.
Zandy Aguirre has been dancing since the age of 2 and has practiced ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop and lyrical. In high school she was a member of the Silver Spurs Drill Team and the Lariettes Dance Team with which she performed competitively at various MA, SMA, Showtime and American Dance/Drill Team competitions. She was also a Principal in the Brandeis Ballet Company and now attends the University of Texas at San Antonio where she is working toward getting her degree in Criminal Psychology.
Sarah is 19 years old and started dancing at the age of 11. Her passion for dance led her to study all disciplines in the dance field. She has studied ballet, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, modern, and hip hop. She attended and graduated from Antonian College Preparatory High School in 2014. At Antonian, Sarah was an officer her junior and senior year and was a 4-time National Dance Team Champion. Sarah has trained under an extensive amount of world- renowned choreographers in her dance career. She travels throughout the United States training at workshops and conventions, such as, Monsters of Hip Hop and The Pulse On Tour. This past season, Sarah was awarded a scholarship to participate in the week long Pulse On Tour Summer Intensive Training in New York City. Sarah worked closely with Tessandra Chavez and performed in Tessandra’s piece at The Pulse 10 year Anniversary Gala. Sarah is not done growing as a dancer and believes in the philosophy, “Be better than yesterday”.

Hallie began dancing when she was 2 at a small studio in Conroe, Tx. She learned many different types of dance, such as; classical ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, lyrical/contemporary, hip-hop, and Pilates. She was also on the studios competition team for 10 years. At 16, she began studying the art of yoga.
Hallie graduate from Texas State with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Studies in 2011. There, she studied many different types of modern dance, mainly Erick Hawkins technique. After graduating, she earned her 200 hr. yoga certification in January 2013 at the Yoga Institute in Houston. And has also been hula hoop dancing for many years.
Since graduating, she has taught many different types of dance to people of all ages. She truly enjoys what she does and couldn’t see herself doing anything else.
Alora Wurzbach started her dancing career at the age of two. At the age of 12 she began competing in dance competitions winning overalls in Starbound, Tremaine, and Showstoppers. From there she joined the Junior Company at Ballet San Antonio won national titles and danced in the Ballet San Antonio Nutcracker her thirteenth and fourteenth years. After that she moved to Trilogy Dance Center and finished her training there when she graduated Medina Valley High School dancing on the dance team, Top Cats. Her senior year she competed in Vegas for National Titles. She traveled to New York and Vegas again for countless auditions. She began teaching at fifteen years old and has not stopped growing with every single one of her students. Alora graduated with her Associate of Arts, concentration in Liberal Arts from Northwest Vista College and is furthering her education at Texas A&M University San Antonio.

Ember has been a very active child ever since birth. She grew up in a very athletic family and because of this she has played almost every single sport. Along with playing sports Ember began dancing at the age of 5 years old. She started high school at Incarnate Word High school and decided to dedicate her time to the art of dance. At the age of 14, Ember became part of the competitive dance company Insight Dance Ensemble until she graduated high school.. She has been to many conventions and has won a number of scholarships from the styles of tap, hip hop, contemporary, and jazz. She loves performing and entertaining others. She has a passion for teaching and hopes to make an impression in the dance industry.
Brittany enrolled in her first dance class at age 3 and continued to dance for another 14 years, ten of which she was involved in competition. She competed at both regional and national levels, earning numerous “first overall” titles and distinguished performer awards, dance convention scholarships and awards for top choreography. She always had a competitive nature and also competed in gymnastics, swimming, and track.
After graduating from O’Connor High School in 2002, she attended Texas A&M University where she earned a B.A. in English in 2006. She was employed by Texas A&M University in the Information Technology Department from 2005-2015. Never having lost her love for dance, she has returned to teach and inspire the next generation of dancers and top performers.
